UAE, Egyptian FMs discuss regional stability

ABU DHABI, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt on Wednesday discussed escalating regional tensions, calling for efforts to promote stability in the Middle East and address ongoing humanitarian crises.

During a phone call, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of the UAE, and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and underscored the need to intensify efforts to enhance security, stability and peace.

They highlighted the significance of fully implementing a U.S.-proposed plan to achieve stability and sustainable development in the region.

The ministers also reviewed efforts to strengthen the humanitarian response for civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Addressing the conflict in Sudan, both sides stressed the urgent need to reach an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and to ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance to affected civilians.

In addition, the ministers reaffirmed their commitment to coordinating positions on regional issues.
