TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Six people were killed and one injured on Tuesday when a semi-trailer truck collided with a sedan on an intercity road in Iran's northwestern Zanjan province, the official news agency IRNA reported.
The crash was reported at 14:45 local time (1115 GMT) on the road linking the provincial capital Zanjan to Abhar County, IRNA quoted Hekmatollah Hashemi, managing director of the province's Red Crescent Society, as saying.
Rescue teams were dispatched immediately to the scene, Hashemi said.
He identified the sedan as a Peugeot 206, but did not specify the cause of the incident.
Zanjan is located about 326 km northwest of the Iranian capital Tehran. ■
