SANAA, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Six Yemeni government soldiers were killed in an overnight attack launched by the Houthi group in an attempt to seize a key city in the Red Sea coastal province of Hodeidah in western Yemen, local government and military sources said.
Local authorities told Xinhua on Sunday morning that the Houthi group launched a large-scale attack late Saturday night on several military positions in Hays district, Hodeidah province.
According to authorities, the clash lasted for hours, leaving six dead and about 10 others wounded. Dozens of Houthi fighters were also killed or injured.
There was no immediate comment from the Houthi group. ■
