BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE), in collaboration with the Brunei Institute of Certified Public Accountants (BICPA), held a roadshow on the accounting profession aimed at inspiring Bruneian students to pursue careers in the field.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the ministry said the roadshow targeted students of the institution, providing early exposure to the accounting profession while encouraging them to begin planning their academic pathways towards careers in accounting after graduation.
Dayangku Masleda Pengiran Daud, acting director at the Revenue Division of MOFE, highlighted the importance of producing more professionals in the accounting field, including qualified auditors and accountants, to meet the increasing demand for their services.
The ministry expressed hope that more Bruneians will qualify as chartered accountants in the years ahead, strengthening the nation's financial and corporate sectors.
Such efforts are seen as supporting the country's long-term development goals under Brunei Vision 2035, which aims to achieve a dynamic and sustainable economy driven by skilled professionals. ■
