JERUSALEM, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Friday that its forces, together with the Shin Bet domestic security agency and the Israel Police, arrested around 100 "wanted Palestinians" across the West Bank over the past week.
The statement said that hundreds of "counter-terrorism" operations were carried out, including the demolition of two homes of two Palestinians who were alleged to have taken part in attacks that killed an Israeli IDF officer and two civilians.
It added that among the detainees were Hamas-affiliated operatives, arms dealers, and other individuals involved in promoting attacks.
During the operations, weapons, ammunition, explosive devices, and cash allegedly intended to finance "terrorist" activities were seized, according to the statement.
Israel captured the West Bank and East Jerusalem in the 1967 Mideast War. Most of the international community considers Israeli settlements in the occupied territories illegal under international law. ■
