PARIS, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- The headquarters of the French hard-left party La France Insoumise (LFI) in Paris was evacuated on Wednesday following a bomb threat, party coordinator Manuel Bompard said.

Bompard stated on the social media platform X that police were dispatched to the scene, and all employees and activists were safe.

The alert was lifted around midday. Bompard told reporters that the party has implemented additional security measures to protect its staff and called on public authorities to "guarantee a dignified and healthy democratic debate."

According to French media, the incident came amid heightened tensions and a series of attacks on LFI offices across France. The acts of vandalism followed the death of Quentin Deranque, a far-right activist who was seriously injured during a clash between radical groups during a conference given by an LFI member in Lyon on Feb. 12.

French daily Le Monde reported that to date, 11 individuals have been detained in connection with the Lyon investigation, including a parliamentary assistant to Raphael Arnault, an LFI member.
