KABUL, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- A gas cylinder explosion has left one person dead and three others injured in eastern Afghanistan's Wardak province, the provincial government said in a statement on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Maidan Shar, the capital of the province. According to the statement, the explosion occurred late at night due to improper handling of a gas cylinder. One person was killed in the blast, while a woman and two children were injured.
The wounded were taken to the provincial health center for treatment with the assistance of security forces and local residents.
Local authorities have called on citizens to observe safety precautions when using gas cylinders to avoid similar incidents in the future. ■
