SAO PAULO, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed and 11 others injured early Tuesday in a road accident in central Brazil, local authorities said.
The accident occured at the Planaltina area of Goias state when a truck crashed into a van coming from Santa Rita de Cassia toward Brasilia.
A child, two women and two men were among the victims.
The accident occurred among heavy traffic due to celebrations of a Carnival holiday in the South American country. ■
