LIVIGNO, Italy, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Switzerland's Mathilde Gremaud has withdrawn from the women's freeski big air final at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics after sustaining a hip injury in training, Swiss Ski confirmed on Monday.
Gremaud, the event's bronze medalist at Beijing 2022, won the slopestyle gold at these Games a week ago and was expected to be among the top contenders in big air. Her compatriot Anouk Andraska also pulled out after injuring her wrist during training.
"Both fell during training and were injured," the Swiss federation said, adding that further medical examinations were underway.
The women's big air final, which was delayed due to weather conditions in the Italian Alps, saw its start time pushed back from 19:30 to 20:45 local time. ■
