MADRID, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- At least five people have died and four others sustained minor injuries in a fire on Monday evening in northeastern Spain, local authorities said.
The blaze erupted in a five-story residential building in the town of Manlleu in Barcelona province, Catalan regional fire service said in a statement.
Fire crews extinguished the fire in about half an hour, but five people inside the rooftop were found dead. Four others suffered minor injuries.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, with support from local patrol units. Authorities said identification of the deceased is ongoing. ■
