HONG KONG, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stock market ended higher in half-day trading on Monday, wrapping up the Year of Snake on an upbeat note.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 0.52 percent to close at 26,705.94 points. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 0.42 percent to end at 9,070.32 points, and the Hang Seng Tech Index inched up 0.13 percent to 5,367.52 points.
For the Year of the Snake, the Hang Seng Index surged 32 percent from a year earlier, logging its strongest annual performance in eight lunar years. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index expanded 23 percent, and the Hang Seng Tech Index advanced about 14 percent.
Stock trading will resume on Friday following the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday. ■
