SAN JOSE, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- England will face Costa Rica in a June friendly as part of its preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Costa Rican football federation said on Wednesday.
The match will be played on June 10 at a venue to be confirmed in Florida, the United States, the federation said in a statement.
"England arrives after a dominant UEFA World Cup qualifying campaign, in which it secured qualification for the World Cup with two games to spare, and has a top-level squad," the statement read.
The World Cup will be played in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19.
England will begin its campaign against Croatia on June 17 and will also face Ghana and Panama in Group L. ■
