RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Lucas Moura and Jonathan Calleri scored either side of halftime as Sao Paulo rose to the top of Brazil's Serie A on Wednesday with a 2-0 home win over 10-man Gremio.

Former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham winger Moura gave his side the lead from the penalty spot after Danielzinho was dragged down by goalkeeper Weverton.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men just after halftime when Wagner Leonardo was shown a second yellow card for a bad foul on Argentine striker Calleri.

The former Boca Juniors and West Ham striker then doubled his side's lead with an easy tap in after Luciano's unselfish pass.

Luciano missed the chance to extend the lead when he was brought down in the area and awarded a penalty, only to see his spot kick saved by Weverton.

"We were dominant throughout and we deserved to win by a bigger margin," Sao Paulo manager Hernan Crespo told a post-match news conference. "We played with a clear game plan and created a lot of chances. It was attractive to watch."

Sao Paulo has seven points from three outings to lead second-placed Bahia on goal difference. Gremio is 12th in the 20-team standings with three points so far.

Elsewhere in Brazil's Serie A on Wednesday, Bahia won 1-0 at Vasco da Gama, Atletico Mineiro was held to a 3-3 home draw by Remo, Cruzeiro drew 2-2 at Mirassol and Chapecoense was held to a 3-3 home draw by Coritiba.
