CARACAS, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Venezuela's acting president Delcy Rodriguez met with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright at the Miraflores Palace on Wednesday to review the bilateral energy agenda.

According to Venezuela's presidential office, the meeting focused on an "energy agenda beneficial for both nations," within the framework of Venezuela's energy sovereignty and bilateral relations.

Also present were U.S. charge d'affaires Laura Dogu, along with Hector Obregon, president of Venezuela's state-owned oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA, and Felix Plasencia, Venezuela's diplomatic representative to the United States.

Wright's visit marks the first by a senior U.S. official to Venezuela since the United States forcibly seized Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, in a military raid on Jan. 3.
