JERUSALEM, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Dutch-based AI cloud company Nebius said on Tuesday it had agreed to acquire Israeli AI startup Tavily, according to a joint statement of the two companies.

Financial terms were not disclosed, though Israeli media reported the deal was valued at about 275 million U.S. dollars, rising to as much as 400 million dollars if performance targets are met.

Nebius, which is listed on Nasdaq and has a market value of more than 23 billion dollars, provides cloud infrastructure for artificial intelligence.

Founded in 2024, Tavily develops so-called agentic search technology that helps AI systems access up-to-date online information for tasks such as software development, data analysis, and financial trading.

Tavily's tools are used by developers worldwide and have millions of monthly downloads. Its customers include IBM and other major AI companies.

Nebius said the acquisition would enhance its AI cloud platform by adding real-time web search capabilities, enabling customers to build AI agents that can verify information, browse the internet and carry out complex tasks without relying on multiple software providers.
