BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Guido Carrillo scored late as Estudiantes rose to third in Group A with a 1-0 home win over Deportivo Riestra in Argentina's Apertura tournament on Monday.
Former Monaco striker Carrillo broke the deadlock in the 75th minute by latching onto Brian Aguirre's cross with a bullet header that left goalkeeper Ignacio Arce with no chance.
Riestra controlled only 23 percent of the possession and failed to have a single shot on target.
The result leaves Estudiantes with eight points from three games, seven points ahead of Riestra, which is 14th in the 15-team group.
Elsewhere in Argentina's top flight on Monday, Barracas Central won 2-0 at home to Gimnasia LP, Talleres drew 1-1 at Lanus and Independiente Rivadavia prevailed 1-0 at Estudiantes RC. ■
