HANOI, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed in a homemade firecracker explosion in northern Vietnam's Hung Yen province, local media VnExpress reported Tuesday.
The incident occurred at about 7:45 a.m. local time at a two-story house in An Thi commune, causing the ground to rumble and the building's walls to collapse, with smoke and flames seen rising from the site, the report said.
The second floor of the house was severely damaged, while some nearby houses also suffered cracked walls and broken windows, the report added. ■
