NEW DELHI, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- A 60-year-old woman died and several others were injured when a stampede occurred during a religious procession in India's central state of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in the state's Gwalior city. The injured were admitted to a local hospital, with some of them said to be in a critical condition.
Eyewitnesses were quoted as saying the stampede occurred due to inadequate security measures. An investigation was underway to probe the incident, said the local police. ■
