ISTANBUL, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye detained 63 suspects in nationwide operations targeting the Gulen movement over the past two weeks, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said Monday on social media.

According to Yerlikaya, the operations were carried out in 29 provinces under the coordination of the chief public prosecutors' offices and the counterterrorism force.

The suspects were accused of operating within the movement, maintaining contact with its senior members, providing financial support to organizations allegedly linked to the group, spreading propaganda on social media, and attempting to flee abroad.

Among the detained suspects, 41 were formally arrested, while four others were placed under judicial control. Legal procedures for the remaining suspects are ongoing, he said.

The Turkish government blames Fethullah Gulen, a Turkish cleric who lived in self-exile in the United States, for orchestrating a failed coup attempt in July 2016, which left 249 people dead and around 2,200 others injured. Türkiye has listed the cleric's network as a terrorist organization.
