BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Former Uruguay international forward Michael Santos scored late as Central Cordoba secured its first win of Argentina's Apertura season with a 1-0 home victory over Union Santa Fe on Friday.
Santos broke the deadlock 14 minutes from time by heading in after Marco Iacobellis' floating free kick from the right wing.
It was the 32-year-old's first goal for Central in his third match since his January move from Velez Sarsfield on loan.
The visitors had more than 50% of the possession but were unable to breach the hosts' compact defense.
Central Cordoba is now ninth in the 15-team Group A standings, with four points from as many games, behind Union on goal difference. ■
