KABUL, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and three others sustained injuries when the wall of their house collapsed in western Afghanistan's Farah province on Friday, a statement from the provincial Directorate for Information and Culture said.
The incident took place in Farah Rod district following heavy rain, killing the father and his young daughter on the site and injuring three others, including two children and their mother, the statement added.
This is the third incident of its kind since Saturday, occurring in the wake of heavy rains and snowfall in major parts of Afghanistan.
The majority of Afghan residential houses, particularly in rural areas, are constructed from mud, which makes them prone to natural disasters and vulnerable even to rain and snowfall, occasionally resulting in loss of life and property damage. ■
