India's forex reserves rise by over 14 bln USD

NEW DELHI, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange (forex) reserves rose by 14.361 billion U.S. dollars to 723.774 billion dollars during the week ended Jan. 30, revealed the weekly bulletin released by the country's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), on Friday.

The forex reserves' biggest component, the foreign currency assets, decreased by 493 million dollars to 562.392 billion dollars, while the Gold Reserves increased by 14.595 billion dollars to 137.683 billion dollars.

The RBI's data further showed that the Special Drawing Rights rose by 216 million dollars to 18.953 billion dollars, and the country's reserves position in the International Monetary Fund improved by 44 million dollars to 4.746 billion dollars.
