ULAN BATOR, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- A total of 551 drug-related crimes have been registered across Mongolia in 2025, up 21.6 percent from 2024, according to the country's State General Prosecutor's Office on Thursday.
A lack of awareness of drug laws and attempting to make easy money are part of the reasons for the growth of such crimes.
Police have arrested 417 people linked to the cases, with more than 40.7 percent aged 25-35.
According to the law, a person found guilty of trafficking drugs faces at least two years in prison. ■
