BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay Yamandu Orsi will pay a state visit to China from Feb. 1 to 7.
Orsi was born in the Canelones Department of Uruguay on June 13, 1967. He previously served as secretary general of the intendancy of Canelones and the intendant of the department.
Orsi was elected president of Uruguay in November 2024 and assumed office on March 1, 2025. ■
