PARIS, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- France's gross domestic product(GDP) increased by 0.9 percent in 2025, lower than the 1.1 percent growth in 2024 and the 1.6 percent growth in 2023, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies.
GDP grew by 0.2 percent in the fourth quarter last year, marking a slowdown after 0.5 percent growth in the third quarter.
Domestic demand excluding inventories recorded a moderate acceleration in 2025, contributing 0.7 percent to economic growth, up from 0.6 percent in 2024, according to the institute.
However, foreign trade weighed on economic growth last year, contracting by 0.5 percent compared with a 1.3 percent increase in 2024, it added. ■
