BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 jolted South Sandwich Islands Region at 0730 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 57.71 degrees south latitude and 25.30 degrees west longitude. ■
