JERUSALEM, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Israeli left-back Yahav Gurfinkel has completed a move to the UEFA Conference League club AEK Larnaca after two seasons with Chengdu Rongcheng in the Chinese Super League (CSL), the Cypriot club and Israeli media confirmed on Wednesday night.

The 27-year-old joined Chengdu in February 2024 and quickly became a key figure, helping the club secure third-place finishes in the CSL in back-to-back seasons.

Across all competitions, he recorded three goals and 19 assists in 69 appearances, including six matches in this season's AFC Champions League.

Gurfinkel began his professional career with Israel's Maccabi Haifa before representing several other domestic clubs, most notably Hapoel Tel Aviv, whom he joined in the summer of 2022. He also spent the 2021-22 season in Sweden with IFK Norrkoping.

At the international level, Gurfinkel has made 39 appearances for Israel's youth national teams, featuring from the U16 through to the U21 sides.

He has signed a 2.5-year contract with AEK Larnaca, who currently sit second in the Cypriot league. The club has also enjoyed a strong European campaign, advancing directly to the last 16 of the Conference League after finishing eighth in the league phase.
