SANAA, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthi group on Monday revealed details of an attack on a British vessel carried out two years earlier in the Gulf of Aden as a U.S. carrier strike group is deployed to the Middle East.
The Houthi group's media center released on its official website a video recording of the operation that targeted the British vessel Marlin Luanda on Jan. 26, 2024, in the Gulf of Aden, including details about the type of weapon used in the attack.
The approximately 9-minute video, released for the first time, showed footage of missiles being launched at the British vessel in the Gulf of Aden and the moment it caught fire.
The Houthis released the video as the U.S. Central Command announced on Monday that the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the Middle East amid instability in the region.
Responding to U.S. military movements in West Asia and its ongoing joint drills with Gulf states, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Monday that Iran will give a "comprehensive and regret-inducing" response to any aggression.
Also on Monday, the United Arab Emirates reaffirmed its commitment not to allow its airspace, territory, or waters to be used in any military actions against Iran. ■
