KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- China's development of its low-altitude economy into a new growth engine presents a new avenue of cooperation between Malaysia and the Asian tech powerhouse, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has said.
This emerging sector holds significant potential across logistics, agriculture, infrastructure inspection, disaster management, urban mobility and public services, Loke on Monday said in his remarks at the forum on building a high-level strategic Malaysia-China community with a shared future.
Loke said that Malaysia aspires to go beyond merely adopting new technologies and seeks co-development and regulatory cooperation. "Malaysia welcomes partnerships that go beyond the sale of finished products, particularly partnerships that involve technology transfer, local manufacturing, maintenance, skills development, and downstream applications that generate higher value," he said.
"This is where government-to-government cooperation can play an enabling role by aligning regulatory standards, facilitating pilot projects, and creating a predictable environment for innovation to scale responsibly," he said. ■
