ISLAMABAD, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- At least seven people were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province late Monday night, police said.
Local police told Xinhua on Tuesday that the accident occurred on a highway near Yakmach area of Chaghi district when two double-cabin vehicles collided head-on at high speed.
The vehicles were completely destroyed in the crash, said a police official, adding that the deceased included men, women and children.
Rescue and police teams rushed to the site shortly after the accident and shifted the bodies and the injured to a nearby hospital.
The injured were later transferred to a hospital in another district for further treatment because of their critical condition.
Police said an investigation had been launched to determine the cause of the accident. ■
