MUSCAT, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Three French nationals died on Tuesday after a boat capsized off the coast of Muttrah in Oman's Muscat Governorate, local media reported.
The vessel was carrying 25 French tourists when the incident occurred, according to Times of Oman. Rescue and ambulance teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) responded to the scene following an emergency call.
Two other passengers sustained minor injuries and received treatment on-site, the report said.
The cause of the accident remains unknown. The Royal Oman Police and maritime authorities have launched an investigation into the sinking. Efforts are currently underway to provide support to the survivors and the families of the victims, the report added. ■
