BEIRUT/JERUSALEM, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Two Hezbollah members were killed, and five other people injured on Sunday in Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon, Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported.
An airstrike on the municipality of Derdghaya in Tyre district killed one person, according to NNA.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health announced that an "enemy airstrike" on the area between the villages of Khirbet Selm and Kfardounine in Bint Jbeil district killed one person and wounded five others.
A Lebanese security source told Xinhua that the two people killed were Hezbollah members.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military said that it struck and killed a Hezbollah militant in southern Lebanon's Bazouriye area, adding that the attack was in response to "repeated violations of ceasefire understandings" by the group.
The military added that it had also targeted Hezbollah sites in southern and eastern Lebanon earlier on Sunday.
The Israeli army has carried out frequent strikes in Lebanon, claiming they are aimed at removing Hezbollah "threats," despite a U.S.- and French-brokered ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel that has been in effect since Nov. 27, 2024. ■
