ULAN BATOR, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- The number of criminal cases in Mongolia has increased by nearly 7 percent in 2025, the country's National Statistical Office (NSO) said Sunday.
A total of 47,480 criminal cases were recorded in the January-December period, up 6.3 percent against the same period last year, the NSO said.
This growth was directly related to rises in crimes against traffic safety and transport operation by 43.2 percent, property crimes by 1.6 percent and crimes against human life and health by 5 percent, it added.
According to the NSO, a total of 43,800 people fell victim to various crimes, nearly 18 percent of whom were children and women in 2025. ■
