Chinese shares close higher Friday

BEIJING, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.33 percent to 4,136.16 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.79 percent higher at 14,439.66 points. ■
