SYDNEY, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Police in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) were on Friday morning continuing to search for a man accused of killing three people in a domestic violence-related shooting on Thursday.
Tactical officers and police helicopters were deployed on Thursday night to the small town of Lake Cargelligo, 450 km west of Sydney, to conduct a large-scale manhunt for a suspect identified as 37-year-old Julian Ingram following the shooting at around 4:20 p.m. local time.
The NSW Police Force said on Friday that a 25-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were shot and killed in a vehicle.
A short time later, a 50-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were shot in the driveway of a nearby property. The woman died at the scene while the man was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Local media reported on Friday that the 25-year-old female victim was Ingram's former partner and that she was pregnant.
Police have urged residents in the area to remain indoors away from windows and to call emergency services if they witness anything suspicious. ■
