YANGON, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar welcomed over 973,000 foreign tourists in 2025, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism said on Thursday.
The number of foreign tourists was lower compared to over 1.06 million foreign tourists who visited the country in 2024, U Myo Win Nyunt, deputy permanent secretary of the ministry, told Xinhua.
The primary sources of foreign visitors to Myanmar are China, Thailand and South Korea, he said.
"We hope to welcome more foreign tourists in the coming years. Our department is working on hotel renovations and providing training for employees to ensure better services for visitors," he added. ■
