TEHRAN, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Iran's intelligence and security forces have killed the operational ringleader of a "terrorist" group and arrested 11 of its members in three joint operations in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, the semi-official Fars news agency reported Wednesday.
Golmohammad Shahouzehi, the ringleader, was killed in the operations carried out by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps as well as the provincial intelligence organization and police on the outskirts of the provincial capital Zahedan, Fars reported, saying the killed and the arrested sought to perpetrate "terror" operations in the province.
Arms and ammunition were also seized during the operations, Fars reported, without specifying the date of the operations.
Bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan, Sistan and Baluchestan province has witnessed several "terrorist" attacks on both civilians and security forces in recent years. ■
