AMMAN, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's King Abdullah II on Sunday commended Qatar's efforts to mediate an agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza, stressing the need to ensure the implementation of all its stages.
The remarks came as King Abdullah II met visiting Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani at Al Husseiniya Palace.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Qatar and discussed ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
They also discussed the importance of maintaining close coordination to serve mutual interests, uphold the sovereignty of Arab states, and contribute to stability in the region.
The two countries signed four memoranda of understanding on the same day, covering bilateral political consultations, tourism cooperation, endowments and Islamic affairs, as well as the second executive program of the youth cooperation protocol for 2026-2028. ■
