GAZA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine said on Saturday that the composition of the Board of Peace for Gaza announced by the United States serves the Israeli interests.
The movement said in a statement that the composition of the board was "in line with Israeli specifications and served the interests of the occupation, in a clear indication of negative intentions regarding the implementation of the terms of the (ceasefire) agreement."
The movement said it was committed to implementing the terms of the agreement in its first phase, and expressed its readiness to move on to the second phase "despite Israeli procrastination, continued daily violations, and failure to comply with what was agreed upon."
The White House on Friday officially announced the names of the members of the Board of Peace for Gaza.
With U.S. President Donald Trump serving as its chairman, the board consists of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, according to the White House. ■
