CHUZHOU, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- A 201.5-meter-long, 12.6-meter-wide, 17,000-tonne swivel girder, part of the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High-Speed Railway, performed an "aerial ballet" above one of China's busiest rail lines-the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway. To complete the crossing of the new high-speed line, the girder's rotation was performed to achieve a perfect connection, while simultaneously safeguarding the continuous and secure operation of the busy line below. In the early hours of Jan. 16, it successfully rotated into its target position. Witness the breathtaking engineering feat in this time-lapse video.
