CANBERRA, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Police in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) said Friday that four more pipe bombs were found in the Belconnen area, after 11 were discovered earlier in the week.
On Thursday, Detective Acting Inspector Anna Wronski said at a press conference that 11 devices had been located and that some had already been detonated. The recent update brings the total to 15.
On Wednesday, the ACT Policing issued a community warning to the public, saying pipe bombs were found in the suburb of Belconnen, 10 km northwest of central Canberra.
It remains unclear how long the pipe bombs were sitting there before being discovered. A police investigation is still underway. ■
