BAGHDAD, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi held a phone conversation on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations and regional security developments.
A statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that during the call, the two sides discussed ways to deepen ties between their nations to serve their mutual interests.
Hussein provided an update on Iraq's new government formation, while Al Busaidi shared insights from his recent visit to Tehran concerning domestic and external security issues in Iran.
The conversation also touched on developments in Yemen, where both sides emphasized the importance of keeping it away from wars and conflicts.
The ministers also stressed the need for dialogue to resolve challenges in Yemen to achieve regional security and stability. ■
