TEHRAN, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Iran's airspace reopened on Thursday after a temporary closure earlier in the day, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

Citing the International Civil Aviation Organization, Fars said that Iran's skies are hosting incoming and outgoing flights, and airports are providing services to passengers.

Iran issued an alert late on Wednesday night, closing its airspace to all flights except international flights with prior permission from the country.

Several countries, including Spain, India and Australia, have recently urged their citizens to leave Iran for fear that the United States could attack Iran. The British government updated its Foreign Travel Advice for Iran on Wednesday, announcing a temporary withdrawal of staff from its embassy in Tehran due to security concerns.
