AMMAN, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi warned here on Wednesday that Israel's escalatory and unlawful measures in the occupied West Bank risk increasing tensions and undermining efforts to achieve peace based on a two-state solution.
In a meeting with visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH's) Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic, Safadi called for coordinated international action to stop such practices, read a statement from the Jordanian Foreign Ministry.
Both officials stressed the need to uphold the ceasefire in Gaza, ensure full compliance with its terms, and allow sustained humanitarian aid to reach the enclave, read the statement.
Safadi praised the BiH's support for the Palestinian people's right to an independent state, describing the two-state solution as the only path to a just and lasting peace, read the statement.
The two sides also discussed developments in Syria and reconstruction efforts aimed at preserving the country's unity, sovereignty, and stability, it adds.
They agreed to maintain close communication and stressed the importance of joint international efforts to promote regional security and stability, the statement noted. ■
