RIYADH, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- French rider Adrien Van Beveren of Monster Energy Honda HRC won Stage 10 of the 2026 Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, while France's Mathieu Serradori claimed the Ultimate-class car stage victory and Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah returned to the overall lead.
Van Beveren topped the 420-kilometer special to Bisha in 4:15:43, finishing 3 minutes and 49 seconds ahead of American teammate Ricky Brabec. Argentina's Luciano Benavides of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing was third, 4 minutes and 4 seconds off the leader.
The result marked Van Beveren's seventh career Dakar stage win and lifted him to sixth in the overall motorcycle standings.
The title fight in bikes swung dramatically after defending champion Daniel Sanders crashed and injured his left shoulder about 138 kilometers into the special, dropping significant time. After time credit was applied for assistance given on the stage, Brabec moved into the overall lead, with second-placed Benavides 56 seconds behind.
In Rally2, South Africa's Michael Docherty led a BAS World KTM Team one-two finish with Slovenia's Toni Mulec, while Italy's Paolo Lucci finished third.
In the Ultimate car category, Serradori and co-driver Loic Minaudier steered their Century CR7 to victory, winning the stage by 6 minutes and 12 seconds over Al-Attiyah, with Sebastien Loeb third. The result put Al-Attiyah back on top of the overall standings, leading Toyota's Henk Lategan by 12 minutes and Ford's Nani Roma by 12 minutes and 50 seconds. ■
