PHNOM PENH, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia has recorded a total of 6.98 million international air passengers in 2025, marking a 12-percent rise from a year earlier, said an official report released on Wednesday.

Issued by the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), the report said a total of 36 international and domestic airlines had operated 64,821 flights to the kingdom's three international airports last year, a year-on-year increase of 11 percent.

It added that the Southeast Asian country also reported a 21-percent surge in air cargo volume to 93,889 tonnes last year.

Cambodia currently has three international airports in operation. They are the Techo International Airport, the Siem Reap Angkor International Airport and the Sihanouk International Airport.

"The three international airports averagely accommodate 1,272 flights per week," SSCA's Secretary of State and Spokesperson Sinn Chanserey Vutha said in the report.

He said Cambodia currently has direct flights with eight ASEAN member states, as well as with China, South Korea, Japan, Qatar, India, the United Arab Emirates, and some other regions.
