BEIRUT/JERUSALEM, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli forces carried out on Sunday afternoon over ten airstrikes on the village of Kfar Hatta in southern Lebanon's Litani River area, Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA) reported.

The airstrikes came after Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said on X that Israel would "soon" attack a Hezbollah military infrastructure site in Kfar Hatta. He said the strike was intended to prevent Hezbollah from attempting to resume its activities at the site.

Adraee urged residents to evacuate ahead of the planned strike. "For your safety, you are required to evacuate immediately and move at least 300 metres away," he said.

The airstrikes caused extensive destruction to buildings in the area, according to the NNA.

Israel on Sunday launched wide-scale airstrikes on several areas in southern Lebanon, including the towns of Jbaa and Jezzine. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
