ISLAMABAD, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- At least 2,597 terrorists were killed in more than 75,000 counter-terrorism operations conducted across Pakistan in 2025, a senior military official said on Tuesday.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, disclosed the figures while addressing a press conference, describing terrorism as "the greatest threat currently facing the State of Pakistan."
He said a total of 75,175 intelligence-based operations were carried out during the year by the army, police, Federal Constabulary and intelligence agencies, averaging 206 operations per day.
The military spokesman said 27 suicide bombings occurred during the year. Two of the suicide attacks involved female bombers, he added. ■
