HONG KONG, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 jolted Papua New Guinea Region at 00:42 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 163.6 km, was initially determined to be at 5.55 degrees south latitude and 147.71 degrees east longitude. ■
