ISLAMABAD, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's consumer price index (CPI) inflation eased to 5.6 percent year on year in December 2025, down from 6.1 percent in November, official data showed on Thursday.
On a month-on-month basis, CPI inflation fell by 0.4 percent in December, reversing the trend of recent increases, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said.
During the first half of the current fiscal year (July-December 2025), average inflation stood at 5.15 percent, lower than 7.22 percent recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal year, reflecting moderating price pressures.
Urban CPI inflation rose by 5.8 percent year on year in December, easing from the previous month, while rural CPI inflation grew by 5.4 percent, both showing slower annual increases compared with November figures. ■
